DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A fatal shooting near a main Durham intersection closed a main road in the city Tuesday night, the Durham Police Department said.
Officers were called to a shooting near the intersection of Holloway and Hardee Streets just after 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, police found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, Montique Shawn Palmer, 35, was treated by EMS, but died at the scene.
The passenger, whose identity has also not been released at this time, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Holloway Street was closed between Hardee Street and N Miami Boulevard until shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, police told CBS 17.
There were several evidence markers at the scene, which typically show the location of empty shell casings from fired rounds.
There is no suspect information at this time. However, the Durham Police Department said the shooting is not random.
