NCCU student dies suddenly while at home with parents

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) - A 20-year-old junior at North Carolina Central University died suddenly at her parents' Durham home last week, the University confirmed. 

Alexandra Williams died Thursday, Chancellor Johnson O. Akinleye said. 

She was a junior majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Administration.

"Please keep Ms. Williams’ parents, Lisa and Anthony Williams, her sister, her entire family and her friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time," Akinleye said in a release.

Funeral arrangements will be shared once finalized.

The Counseling Center is open and available for students who would like to speak with a counselor.

The Office of Spiritual Development and Dialogue also has staff on duty for consultation.
