DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A man and teen have been charged after four people — including one of the suspects — were shot during an attempted robbery at a birthday party Saturday night in Durham, police said Monday.
The incident was reported just after 9 p.m. at the Valley Terrace Apartments in the 2800 block of Chapel Hill Road, according to Durham police.
Two people tried to rob others at the birthday party and shots were fired during the incident, police said.
“Officers located three shooting victims with non-life-threatening injuries once they arrived at the scene,” a Durham police news release said.
One suspect was held by people at the party, police said. The other suspect, who was shot during the incident, was driven in a private vehicle to a nearby hospital, according to police.
Authorities said that those who were shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Ledarius Samuel, 20, was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon, police said.
Antoine Page, 17, was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon.
Police did not say which suspect was shot.
Samuel is being held in the Durham County jail under a $1.5 million bond while Page is held on a $1 million bond.
