Police: Man charged with murdering woman in Durham rooming house turns self in

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) - The man charged with murdering a woman inside a rooming house on Oct. 6 has turned himself in after spending days on the run, Durham police said Wednesday.

Thomas Keith Moore, 41, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Naisha McMillian, 23. The young woman was found dead in the hallway of a rooming house in the 800 block of Ridgeway Avenue shortly after 11 p.m.

Police charged Moore with murder immediately after they began investigating the case, but he had been on the run until police announced his arrest on Wednesday.

Moore is being held in the Durham County Jail without bond.
