Three people, two of which were children, were injured Monday evening when a train collided with a pickup truck near Driver and Pettigrew streets in Durham, according to a news release from Durham police.
Ananias Hyman, 38, of Durham, was identified as the driver of the pickup truck. He and his two children were injured in the crash. According to police, the father and Jace Hyman, 2, suffered injuries that “do not appear to be life-threatening.”

Investigators said the westbound train struck the bed of the Dodge Ram on the passenger side, causing it to spin around and end up next to the train tracks.
None of the 140 train passengers were injured, officials said. It was delayed approximately two hours.
The truck’s three occupants were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. Amtrak said the train was heading from New York to Charlotte.
