SUV driver facing DWI charge after motorcyclist dies in Johnston County crash

PRINCETON, N.C. (WNCN) - A motorcyclist died during a collision with an SUV along U.S. 70 in Johnston County near Princeton on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

The crash closed lanes on U.S. 70 for about two hours.

The wreck on U.S. 70  near U.S. 70 Alternate was reported around 2:45 p.m. 

Officials did not provide any details about the wreck, but said the driver of the SUV was charged with DWI and death by motor vehicle.

Two lanes were closed -- one in each direction -- on U.S. 70 near U.S. 70 alternate near Princeton, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The lanes on U.S. 70 reopened around 4:45 p.m., but the median was still closed until 5:20 p.m.
