Clayton police seek woman who used victim's debit card at 3 Food Lion stores

CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) - A woman used another woman's debit card to buy gift cards recently at three different grocery stores, Clayton police say.

Police are trying to identify the woman who spent $61.06 on Friday at the Food Lion at 238 Pritchard Road, a news release said.

There were two other unauthorized charges at Food Lion stores on 10105 US 70 Business West in Clayton and 75 Glen Road near NC 42/US 40 in Garner, police said.

The victim had $120 fraudulently charged to her debit card.

"Criminals can often skim information off credit cards or grab them from websites and create a physical duplicate card using your card information," Clayton police said in the news release.

The woman in the surveillance photos left the stores in a dark Chrysler 200 sedan.

Anyone who recognizes the woman or has any information that may help investigators, please contact Officer T.B. McNeill at 919-553-4611. You can remain anonymous.
