SMITHFIELD, N.C. (WNCN) – A robbery at a Smithfield AT&T store turned into a chase, according to law enforcement officials. The suspect is still at large.
Johnston County deputies are looking for the suspect involved in the robbery, which happened around 7:30 p.m. in Smithfield.
The suspect, later identified as Brian Lamonte Clark, 22, fled the scene of the robbery and was chased by deputies, Smithfield police said.
Deputies spotted the suspect vehicle near Johnston Health outside of Clayton. The chase ended in the area around US-70 and NC-42 when Clark jumped out of the vehicle and ran.
