CAMERON, N.C. (WNCN) – A man has died after a double shooting in Cameron on Saturday, deputies said.

A woman and man were airlifted after the shooting just before 12:45 p.m. at 118 Helen Lane in Cameron, a news release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Monday afternoon, deputies said Quentin Orlando Belk, 32, died Sunday at UNC Hospital from injuries he suffered in the shooting.

The woman who was shot has since been released from the hospital.

Deputies said Saturday that two “persons of interest” had been detained in the incident.

Sunday afternoon, deputies announced that George Bernhardt Roderick Jr., 37, of Fayetteville was charged in the incident.

Officials said that a second suspect is still detained and that charges are likely against that person.

Roderick was taken into custody with the help of Fayetteville police.

He is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill/inflicting serious injury and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
