RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Authorities say that 86-year-old Margaret Alston Ellis has been found and is safe.

Ellis, who is a member of the Vance County School Board, was last seen around 10:30 a.m. Friday on Radio Lane in Henderson and was wearing church attire.

Henderson police said she had traveled to Bertie County for a funeral.

She was believed to be traveling to Windsor in a black 2014 Honda Civic, with N.C. license plate number TPJ3083.

Henderson police reported on Saturday that Ellis was found in Greenville and was safe.

“We would like to thank everyone for sharing this information and the help provided by the community through their support and prayers,” Henderson police officials said in a news release.
