A Moore County homeowner suffered serious burns after a van fire damaged a home Sunday evening, officials said.
The incident was reported around 8 p.m. at a home along Pineland Drive in Vass, fire officials said in a news release.
The call first went out as a vehicle fire, but the home also was damaged.
A Dodge passenger van was gutted by flames and the heat caused vinyl siding of a nearby home to melt.
The patient was taken to Moore Regional Hospital by Moore County EMS.
Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue, Southern Pines Fire and Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Moore County Sheriffs Department responded to the fire.
