NC man facing indecent liberties with a child charge, Moore County deputies say

CARTHAGE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was arrested by Moore County deputies and is facing a felony child sex charge, officials announced Tuesday.

James Alan Edwards, 31, of Archdale, was arrested on Monday, according to a news release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

Edwards was charged with felony indecent liberties with a child, said the news release from Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

The victim in the case is a boy between the ages of 12 and 14, according to Moore County Capt. Josh Craven.

Edwards knew the boy when the incident happened in October 2017, Craven said.

The incident was reported to authorities in December 2018.

He is being held on a $150,000 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center.

Edwards’ first appearance is set for Thursday in Moore County District Court, Fields said.

No other details were provided by authorities.
