Driver likely impaired in crash that hit woman in Chapel Hill, police say

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just before 3 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Franklin Street.

Authorities say the pedestrian was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk when the accident happened.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired and the pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment.
