Infant found in car with man who was shot multiple times, Hillsborough police say

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) - Hillsborough police are investigating after a person was found in a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. An infant was also in the car when officers arrived, according to a press release.

Hillsborough police responded to a shooting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the area of Churton Street and Cardinal Drive.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The infant was unharmed and is in the custody of the Orange County Department of Social Services, the release said.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a white or tan Mercedes-Benz sedan.
