UNC’s School of Dentistry receives $27M+ donation, will rename school

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Dentistry received a $27.7 million donation Wednesday morning.

The donation, according to university officials, will “enable the school to further its work of offering world-class dental education to exceptional students and lead in statewide service.”

The school will be renamed the UNC Claude A. Adams, Jr. and Grace Phillips Adams School of Dentistry thanks to the massive donation.

The donation announcement included remarks from UNC’s Interim Chancellor Kevin M. Guskiewicz and UNC School of Dentistry officials.
