A Wendell man is charged with solicitation of a child by computer after he reported to police that he thought the child and her family were trying to scam him, documents show.

Richard Kreuscher, 62, went to the Wendell Police Department on Nov. 4 to inform officers “that he believed he was being scammed by a female and her family,” an affidavit read. He told officers he met a female named “Ruby” online and communicated with her via chats on his computer and phone.

Kreuscher then stated “Ruby” had “sent him nude photographs and then claimed to be 15 years old,” the affidavit said. He then allowed officers to read the conversation. Officers saw that, after learning “Ruby” was underage, the 62-year-old “arranged to meet her at the Wendell Community Park for sexual relations.”

Kreuscher was arrested on Nov. 4 at the police department, the affidavit said.
