SPRING HOPE, N.C. (WNCN) – A convicted felon was arrested after Spring Hope police said he was in possession of firearms and drugs following a chase.

Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Spring Hope Officers Gwaltney and Bell arrested Ryan Boose, of Nashville following a brief vehicle chase, police said.

Gwaltney attempted to perform a traffic stop but Boose drove off, Spring Hope police said.

Boose stopped just outside of Spring Hope where officers searched his vehicle.

Two handguns, 26 grams of marijuana, cocaine and prescription drugs were all found in his vehicle, Spring Hope police said.

“Boose obviously cannot possess the illegal drugs, but due to his criminal history, he can’t possess the handguns because he is a convicted felon,” Spring Hope said in a release. “This was an example of proactive law enforcement in Spring Hope by the officers that patrol your community.”

Boose was charged with two counts possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sale and deliver marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of schedule IV drug, flee to elude, resist, delay and obstruct a law enforcement officer, speeding, and no operator’s license.

Spring Hope police said Boose has a criminal history that includes arrests for larceny and stalking.
