1 hospitalized, 1 arrested after altercation leads to shooting in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – One man was hospitalized and another is facing multiple charges after a shooting in Raleigh Monday night, police said.

The shooting happened at a duplex near a park along the 500 block of Dacian Road.

Police said two men who knew each other got into an altercation around 7:40 p.m. The victim was shot by the other man in the head and neck. The suspect fled the scene.

Police received a call around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday indicating that the suspect was Destin Wilson, 23, of Raleigh. Wilson was located by police and arrested.

He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon, and carrying a concealed gun, police said.

Officials said the victim, who was transported to WakeMed, has serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Wilson has not appeared before a magistrate and has not been issued bond as of 4:30 a.m.
