WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) -- One person died after a car went off a road and into a body of water in northern Wake County Saturday night.
The incident was reported before 10:30 p.m. in the area of Mangum Dairy Road at Brayer Hill Path, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened when a car crashed into a bridge guardrail, then went off the bridge and then landed in a creek just north of the New Light community, according to officials and reports at the scene.
The drop from the bridge to the creek was about 10 feet and the creek was about four-feet deep, a CBS 17 journalist at the scene reported.
New Light Creek flows through the area where the crash was reported.
