2 Wake County men arrested for heroin trafficking, warrants say

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) - Two Wake County men were arrested for heroin trafficking and related charges, according to search warrant.

Antoine George Elghossain, 30, of Apex, and 27-year-old Jayson McNeil, of Raleigh, were arrested after a traffic stop in Wake Forest. Records show they were both charged with trafficking opium or heroin, and conspire to traffic opium or heroin. Elghossain was also charged with simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance, and McNeil was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrants show that the two were pulled over on Capital Boulevard near N.C. 98 on June 27. Elghossain was driving a white Nissan Altima that had a registration violation and was speeding, according to the documents.

A Wake County Sheriff's Office deputy and his K-9 detected the presence of narcotics. A search of the car yielded two Suboxone strips not in a prescription container and almost 50 bindles of heroin — 48 in the console area and another on the backseat floor. A used hypodermic needle was also found in Elghossain's pocket, the warrants state.

The drugs were valued at about $300.

Elghossain and McNeil both claimed to be heroin addicts, the warrants said.

Officers applied for a warrant to search a phone seized after McNeil was seen making a call.
