MARKS CREEK, N.C. (WNCN) — Two women and an EMS worker were bitten by a pit bull that was roaming around a Wake County neighborhood Monday afternoon, witnesses and animal control officials say.
The incident happened along Sweetgrass Street, which is off Poole Road near Smithfield Road.
According to the owners of the pit bull, their dog got out of a fenced area while workers were at the home.
The dog then attacked two neighborhood women, one as she was trying to get into her car, the victims said.
The EMS worker was bitten after the two women were injured, the women told a CBS 17 journalist at the scene.
One of the two women was taken to an area hospital by her husband, although injuries to all three victims were not serious, officials said.
Wake County Animal Control is investigating the incident.
