34-year-old woman found after disappearing from Raleigh Walmart, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - UPDATE: Jennifer Chatham has been located and is OK, police confirm. No charges have been filed at this time. 

Raleigh police said Chatham and her boyfriend did not know the driver who brought them to the Walmart. 

Police later said Chatham left with the driver voluntarily. 


Raleigh police are investigating a kidnapping at a Walmart on New Bern Avenue, a release said.

The release said that 34-year-old Jennifer Chatham was walking with her boyfriend along New Bern Avenue. A male stopped his vehicle and asked if they needed a ride.

The driver took them to the Walmart, located at 4431 New Bern Avenue. The boyfriend went into the store. When he returned, the vehicle, driver, and Chatham were all gone.

According to the release, the driver was bald and wearing a white t-shirt and painter's jeans. The vehicle is said to be a burgundy minivan with writing on the side and a ladder on top.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately.
