APEX, N.C. (WNCN) — Apex police are warning the community about a recent scam.

They say the scammer sends text messages saying that the Apex Police Department has shirts for $10 off. It also includes a link.

The Department says these messages are not legit and people should not click on the link.

They report numerous residents and employees have received these messages.
