Bomb threat locks down Wake Forest schools

Heritage High School, Heritage Middle School and Heritage Elementary School are on lockdown Tuesday due to a threat called in the morning of Tuesday, March 20, school and police officials have confirmed.

Someone called in about 8:30 a.m. saying they were going to deliver a bomb to Heritage Middle later in the day, according to a Wake Forest town spokesman.

No one was allowed to enter or leave the buildings while the school was on lockdown but classes went on as scheduled. 

Officials say the investigation ongoing and there are no suspects currently.

Bomb sniffing dogs are sweeping the schools and extra police will be present on Wednesday. 

All after school activities at Heritage Middle School and Heritage Elementary School have been canceled.
