CBS 17 anchor hosts American Cancer Society Kick Off

Wake County News

On Thursday night, the Raleigh chapter of the American Cancer Society hosted the kickoff for its “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event.”

CBS 17 anchor and investigative reporter Felicia Bolton served as the emcee for the night.

About 300 people attended the event that featured local cancer survivors and researchers talking about their experiences with breast cancer and the American Cancer Society.

At the kickoff event, the audience learned about the upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, which will be held on Oct. 13 at Midtown Park at North Hills.

The ACS is asking for help to make an even bigger impact to save even more lives. The kickoff is designed to allow corporate and community leaders the opportunity to hear what the American Cancer Society is doing in the fight against breast cancer and how they can get involved.

Bolton was able to interact with the crowd and share her personal story with cancer. Bolton’s mother died of lung cancer and her aunt died of breast cancer.

The media partner serves as the host each year. CBS 17 is proud to serve as a sponsor for the third year in a row.
