RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The City of Raleigh Transportation plans to begin resurfacing North Hills Drive from Lead Mine Rd to Shelley Road today.

This resurfacing project is part of the city’s annual street resurfacing project.

The work will take place between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the weekday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekends, weather permiiting.

Motorist should expect traffic delays and encouraged to use alternate routes.

Last month Raleigh City Council approved the nearly $7 million dollar bid from Blythe Construction Inc, for the annual street resurfacing contract.

Streets that are in the worst condition are typically scheduled for the resurfacing program each year.

The work is expected to be completed by May 31.
