Toddler in hospital after Wake County water emergency; detectives investigate

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Crews responded to a water emergency involving a little boy in Wake County Monday afternoon.

The incident was reported as a possible drowning around 4:45 p.m. at 3735 Tarheel Club Rd., which is east of Raleigh, according to Wake County officials.

A 3-year-old boy was involved in the incident. As of 8:30 p.m. Monday he was still at an area hospital, according to Eric Curry, spokesman for the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.

Curry said that detectives are investigating the incident.

The area is just west of Interstate 540 and north of Old Milburnie Road.
