RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A drunk driver crashed into a power pole and took lines down Tuesday morning in Raleigh, according to police.

Officers responded to a crash call at 1:08 a.m. on Leesville Road between Oneal Road and Country Trail. Upon arrival, police saw that a single vehicle crashed into a power pole on the road and took power lines down.

The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The section of road was expected to be closed until around 8 a.m., police said. The road actually reopened just before 7 a.m.

The road closure did not impact Leesville Road Elementary, Middle or High School, officials said.

Duke Energy crews on scene fixed the lines and restored power to those in the area.
