Knightdale man faces murder charge in deadly Wake County shooting, deputies say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - A Knightdale man was charged with murder Saturday evening after a man was found dead in eastern Wake County early Saturday, officials said.

Wake County deputies were first dispatched just before 12:15 a.m. Saturday to the 7000 block of Old Bunch Road about a person who was shot.

A passing motorist called 911 after finding Malik Kahsim Dewberry of Citrine Court in Knightdale with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Dewberry, 22, was transported to Wake Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Torhi Jermaine High, 42, of 930 Laurel Breeze Drive in Knightdale was arrested and charged with murder just after 6 p.m. Saturday, the news release said. High's first court appearance is set for Monday.

No other details were released.
