RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Law enforcement agencies across the Triangle took to social media Wednesday night following the news of a Raleigh officer who had been shot.
The officer was shot while on duty in Southwest Raleigh around 8 p.m. along the 1200 block Schaub Drive near Teakwood Place.
Three people are in custody in relation to the shooting.
The officer was rushed to WakeMed where he underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds.
Raleigh police tweeted thanking everyone for their support and used #PrayForRPD.
That hashtag began to trend in Raleigh just before 10:30 p.m.
Wednesday is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
