Man found seriously injured in the middle of downtown Raleigh street

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh police are investigating an assault after a man was found lying in the middle of a downtown street, according to officials.

Police responded to an assault call on W. Lenoir Street around 2:30 a.m. and found the man lying in the middle of the street when they arrived on scene.

The victim was transported to WakeMed for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Police closed W. Lenoir Street between Dawson and West streets in order to further investigate the crime.

There are no suspects at this time.
