RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A pedestrian was killed in a collision involving a vehicle on Monday morning in Raleigh, police said.
Dispatchers received a call referencing a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian around 6:45 a.m., according to police.
The man, identified as David Paul Miller, 52, of Raleigh, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Western Boulevard at Bilyeu Street, police said.
A Raleigh Police Department wreck report shows that Miller was walking across Western Boulevard at the Ashe Avenue intersection and not in a designated crosswalk when the driver of the truck, who was headed straight on the road, rounded a curve and hit Miller in the roadway.
The eastbound lanes of Western Boulevard were shut down at Pullen Road. The westbound lanes remained open. Police were on scene directing traffic.
The wreck report doesn’t show that the driver of the vehicle has been charged.
