RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Raleigh police are investigating a home invasion that occurred Tuesday morning that left a man seriously injured.
According to Raleigh police, the man was in bed with his wife around 3 a.m. at the 4400 block of Fox road when he heard a loud noise at the door.
The man went to investigate the noise when some type of altercation between the resident and at least one suspect occurred, according to police.
Gunfire was exchanged between the man and the suspect. Police said the victim was shot once in the stomach.
The victim’s wife drove him to WakeMed where he remains in serious condition.
Police are currently investigating. No suspects are in custody at this time.
