KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WNCN) — A 22-year-old woman is facing an assault charge following a stabbing Thursday morning near Knightdale, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies arrived at a home in the 3100-block of Varcroft Road in response to a stabbing call around 2:30 a.m.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found a 21-year-old man who had been stabbed. He was rushed to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
The victim’s girlfriend, Yolanda Vaughan, 22, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Officials say the stabbing occurred following an argument between the victim and suspect.
Vaughan was transported to the Wake County Detention Center where arrest records show she’s being held without bond.
She is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
