Man stabbed on Wake Forest street, suspect on the run, police say

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is in the hospital following a stabbing and the suspect is on the run, according to Wake Forest police.

According to officials, a 43-year-old man was stabbed along N. Allen Road just after 3 a.m. and was able to walk from N. Allen Road down E. Wait Avenue near N. Franklin Street. Because he was able to walk a few blocks after being stabbed, police had to close off multiple blocks as part of the investigation.

The man was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered to be serious.

No one is in custody at this time and police did not release any suspect information.

Police have not said what led to the stabbing.

The area where the stabbing occurred was closed off for about three hours but reopened at 6 a.m.
