North Carolina State University is welcoming 4,889 freshman this weekend.
That’s the largest freshman class in the school’s history – made up of students from 95 North Carolina counties, 38 states and 23 countries.
The move-in is in preparation for the first day of classes on Aug. 22.
That freshman class will help make up a student body of around 35,000.
N.C. State said its first-year class includes 229 valedictorians and salutatorians.
About 48 percent of the freshman class ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school senior class.
