RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - An adult female pedestrian was struck Wednesday night, causing a road closure on Capital Boulevard near Interstate 440, police on scene told CBS 17.
The woman was not walking in a crosswalk. Her injuries are serious, officials said.
The incident happened around 7:14 p.m., according to an alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. As of 9:10 p.m., three of six lanes on the northbound side were closed near I-440. The lanes reopened overnight.
Police are investigating the collision and have not said if any charges will be filed against the driver.
