RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Raleigh police have found a missing 14-year-old boy with autism. He was located around 8:30 p.m. and is safe, police said.

A Silver Alert was issued for Jacob Martin Thrasher after he left a group home he has been staying in around 4:30 p.m. Thursday

“It’s kind of shocking to see this many policemen and activity going on,” said neighbor Sidney McMillan.

Workers at the group home said Jacob has been at the home for a year and had never displayed behavior like this.

“The safety and well-being of our residents is our primary concern. We are so thankful to the RPD for its superb work tonight and are pleased that our resident was found safe,” the home said in a statement.

CBS 17 looked into the home. According to state records, a complaint was made against it in May 2018. It stated the complaint was unsubstantiated.

Neighbors said they frequently see police at the group home.

“Last week it was the same kind of atmosphere and there were cops over here and they were checking out something that was going on in the house,” McMillan said.
