Police: Man assaulted 2 Raleigh officers after eating several pot brownies

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh man ate more than a dozen pot brownies then punched and bit police officers who were trying to take him into custody, according to officials.

Spencer Jonathan Gordon, 22, of Raleigh, punched an officer in the neck and bit another officer’s left arm when they were trying to take him into “emergency custody,” according to arrest documents.

The officers were attempting to arrest Gordon on Saturday evening in a neighborhood off Falls of Neuse Road.

Gordon’s employer is listed in arrest records as Franklin Correctional Center. 

Gordon was charged with assault of a government official and assault of law enforcement officer inflicting physical injury.

Gordon made his first appearance on Monday morning and bonded out of jail.
