Raleigh group ‘Activate Good’ helping to find volunteers for local non-profits

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — About 100 people are volunteering remotely with the organization ‘Activate Good’ to support local nonprofits.

And they’d like to see more.

Activate Good connects volunteers to hundreds of charities. They help the elderly, other at-risk populations and people in need.

Recently, they’ve made masks for medical professionals, made kindness calls to seniors, compiled research and more.

The organization helps charities throughout the year.

Right now is an even more crucial time for help as some charities have had to close their doors.

“A lot of nonprofits are still figuring out the most effective ways for people to be able to support them remotely, so we’re going to see more remote volunteer needs emerging over the next week or so,” said Amber Smith, executive director of Activate Good.

They have remote volunteer tasks — as well as safe, socially-distanced volunteering.
