Raleigh man accused of fracturing baby’s skull during Valentine’s Day assault

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Raleigh man is behind bars after beating his girlfriend’s baby, causing a skull fracture, according to court documents.

Michael Buchanan, 23, is facing one count of intentional child abuse causing serious bodily injury.

A Wake County Magistrate’s Order shows that Buchanan assaulted his girlfriend’s 22-month-old child and caused a “back skull fracture and subdural brain bleed.”

The attack occurred on Thursday, according to the documents.

Buchanan is being held in the Wake County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
