Raleigh man had child porn images showing infants, children being assaulted, warrants say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh man arrested by the SBI on Tuesday is charged with possessing child pornography with some of the images showing infants being sexually assaulted, court documents say. 

Michael Daniel Bell, 42, was arrested at a motel near the intersection of Interstate 440 and Wake Forest Road by agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, documents say.

Bell, who lives in a neighborhood off Leesville Road, was charged with 12 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was also charged with a writing a worthless check in Onslow County dating back to 2002.

Warrants describe some of the images Bell is accused of possessing as showing children ranging in age from infants to 10 years old being sexually assaulted. 

He is being held under a $751,000 bond. 

Bell is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
