Man killed in shooting at northeast Raleigh apartment complex

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh police are investigating a shooting Thursday morning at an apartment complex in Northeast Raleigh.

The shooting occurred just after 5:40 a.m. in the 2300-block of Otterburn Place at Perry Point Apartments, which is near Capital Boulevard and across from the Triangle Town Center shopping area.

Police said officers arrived on scene and found a man who had been shot. He was transported to the hospital.

The victim, identified as 37-year-old Edward Cooper Outlaw, died from his injuries, Raleigh police said.

No suspect information has been provided at this time, but police did say that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
