Road Trippin' with Taniya & Erin: Learning about wine at Raleigh Wine Shop

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - Wine is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. With several wineries in our region, it's not surprising that it's a popular drink of choice.

Taniya Wright and Erin Clanahan found an article saying that millennials drink more wine than any other age group — they actually consume 42-percent of wine the United States —
so they headed to Raleigh Wine Shop on Glenwood Avenue to find out how millennials are changing the game.

"There are a lot of new things happening in the world of wine, and millennials are picking up on that a lot," said Raleigh Wine Shop's Liz Olivieri.

Olivieri says a lot of millennials come to the Wine Shop to enjoy their tastings or take one of the many wine classes they offer.

She says Millennials are usually open to trying different types of wine.

One study says more than half of millennials are open to trying wine in a can.

Whether you like red, white or rose, there are tons of local wine shops around the Triangle for your palate.
