More than 3,000 people laced up their shoes for a run Thursday before Thanksgiving Day dinner!
The annual event brought out runners from across the nation who made their way through the Ridgewood Shopping Center neighborhood.
The 5K, along with the Kids’ Dash, raised money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its fight against MS which attacks the nervous system.
Runners tell CBS 17 that the race puts things into perspective!
“It makes me feel not as guilty when I have the pie this afternoon,” said Joe Brizzoli, of Holly Springs. “And it’s a charity event also so it makes me feel good.”
Corinne Shell & Siobhan Strange, of Cary, also felt the holiday cheer & spirit.
“It’s all about family and being able to get up and go and start the day– be thankful for everything that’s been given to us,” Shell told CBS 17.
Sandy Roberts came in first place for the 5K, finishing the race in less than 30 minutes.
