WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — A man and woman were stabbed at home in Wake Forest Tuesday morning.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office told CBS 17 the woman died from her injuries. The man has serious injuries.
On Wednesday afternoon, deputies identified the woman killed as 58-year-old Hue Thi Lu’o’ng.
Deputies believe this is a domestic incident.
Next to a wooden playset, complete with a bright yellow slide, the red and blue lights of Wake County deputies’ cars flashed outside of a home on Ligon Mill Road for most of the day Tuesday.
“I got home from lunch and I saw just a whole bunch of cop cars,” said Tony Morin, who lives next door.
Morin is concerned about his neighbors.
“It’s terrible. It’s awful,” he said.
Police radio gave an inside look at the investigation, and why police were called to the house around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
“We have a child caller on the phone reporting the father had a knife. Unknown if the mother has been stabbed at this time,” a dispatcher called out.
“Suspect is clear. We can send EMS. The victim is on the kitchen floor responsive,” an investigator said on the radio.
“My male suspect walking around has a stab wound to the left chest. He is responsive,” an officer said.
Information is still limited as the investigation continues.
Investigators are determining the circumstances surrounding this incident, the sheriff’s office said.
