WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) – Crews are responding to a water main break along the 1100 block of South Main Street/US-1A, according to a press release from the Town of Wake Forest.

The water main break will affect traffic flow during rush hour on Thursday.

According to the release, a cone system will be used to merge the northbound lane of South Main Street/US-1A into the center lane. Southbound traffic will be unable to utilize the center turn lane.

“Traffic delays are expected, so motorists are urged to avoid the area and take an alternate route if possible,” spokesperson Bill Crabtree wrote in the press release.

Repairs are expected to be completed by midnight, the release said.
