Wake County News

ZEBULON, N.C. (WNCN) – Zebulon police say they were alerted to threats made against Zebulon Middle School on Wednesday night around 9:42 p.m.

Because of that, the police department said there will be an increased police presence at Zebulon Middle School and more patrols at other schools in the area, according to a news release.

Zebulon police said they, along with Wake County School Security and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, are investigating the threats.

It’s early in the investigation “and therefore only a limited amount of information can be released,” police said. “There is currently insufficient information to determine the validity of the threat, however, all threats are considered serious and this matter is being investigated as such.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Zebulon Police Department at 919-823-1818, or Eastern Wake CrimeStoppers at 919-366-2746.

CBS 17 will update this story if more information is released.
