Goldsboro arson suspects turn themselves in, police say

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – Two people are charged with arson in connection with a Feb. 5 fire in Goldsboro, police said.

The fire happened on Feb. 5 along the 1000 block of Maple Street. The fire was determined to be suspicious following an investigation by the SBI and Goldsboro Police Department, the release said.

On Feb. 22, warrants were obtained for 40-year-old Reginald Williams and 25-year-old Miranda Whitfield.

They were each charged with felony second-degree arson. 

Whitfield turned herself in on Monday and appeared in court on Tuesday. Williams turned himself in on Wednesday and appeared in court on Thursday, the release said.

Both were jailed under $2,000 bonds.
