Goldsboro pair charged with child sex crimes, police say

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A man and woman in Goldsboro are facing child sex charges after an investigation that started in January, officials say.

On Jan. 12, someone reported to the Goldsboro Police Department that a juvenile victim was sexually assaulted, according to a Friday news release from Goldsboro police.

Lanitteyen Darden was arrested on Feb. 13 and is facing several charges, including statutory rape of child less than 15 years of age and statutory sex offense with child less than 15 years of age. 

As the investigation continued, police said another suspect was developed.

On Thursday, Timothy Earl Darden, 39, was charged with felony child abuse – sexual act, the news release said.

Timonth Earl Darden was arrested Friday by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. His bond was set at $50,000.

Lanitteyen Darden’s secured bond was set at $600,000. Both are being held in the Wayne County Jail, officials said.
